Polarizing UFC celebrity and former lightweight champ Conor McGregor makes his long-awaited return to the Octagon when he chooses on reigning Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in what will undoubtedly be the biggest MMA showdown of this year.
Khabib Nurmagomedov v Conor McGregor
When: Saturday, October 6th, 2018.
Where: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
TV: PPV
Live Stream: UFC Fight Pass
UFC 229 — Lightweight Championship
Conor McGregor +135
Khabib Nurmagomedov -165
30-year-old Conor McGregor (21-3) stands 5’9″ with a 74-inch reach. The native of Ireland has not fought at the Octagon since beating Eddie Alvarez through TKO (punches) at the second round at UFC 205 way back in November of 2016. That triumph has been preceded by a majority decision win over Nate Diaz at UFC 202 at August of 2016 and that bout was a rematch later Diaz stunned McGregor with a second round rear-naked choke at UFC 196 at March of 2016.
30-year-old Khabib Nurmagomedov (26-0) stands 5’10” with a 70-inch reach. The Russian is unbeaten in his career and comes into this title fight a unanimous decision win over Al Iaquinta in UFC 223 in April. I will not spill the beans too much by creating a pick here, but I shall say, Conor McGregor is in trouble. He has been out of action for a couple of years and he’s fighting arguably the best fighter on the planet. I smell a submission loss coming for the loud-mouthed former champ. Alright, so I spilled the beans. So what!
The only way we will know is on October 6th. In summary, keep your mind open for whatever because anything could happen in this mad world of sport. You might just get that winning ticket you’ve been searching for.
